The business was started by Mark McGlynn, an ex-Royal Air Force airfield technician, with an eye for detail and a strong interest in emerging technologies. After ten years’ service in the military (where he worked in radar, communications, IT and navigation), Mark moved into various civilian roles: looking after sound and lighting for a theatrical supplier and as a sale manager for conferencing equipment.
His passion for perfection and cutting edge technology never left him, however, so in 2003 (having achieved his NICEIC qualification) he set up Audio Visual and Electrical. Mark was particularly keen to understand how data projectors, and a few years later, interactive whiteboards could be used to support learning in schools and colleges, so these products quickly become the cornerstone of the business.
Since that time, the company has designed and installed complete systems, provided emergency repairs, advised on the best of the latest technologies, and serviced hundreds of ongoing maintenance contracts. Today, it employs experienced electrical installation teams, alongside its specialist audio visual experts, delivering service with a smile from London and throughout the Midlands.
The technology has changed, the business has grown, and the services have diversified; but Mark’s original dream of helping his customers benefit from those advancements in AV and IT has remained at its core.
